What You'll Discover Welcome to "You Can Draw". Hi! I'm Jeff Kasbohm, and I'd like to take a second here to personally welcome you to "You Can Draw.com". And like the name says, I sincerely believe you too can learn to draw. Be it masterpieces or cartoons, drawing is a learnable skill. I want you to enjoy the both the pleasures of drawing and the laughs you'll get by drawing your own hilarious caricatures. In fact, I have no doubt. Skeptical? Most people look at me a little skeptically when I tell them "drawing's a learnable skill, not some special gift you either got or didn't get when you were born". Read this: If you can write, you can draw. You see, it's a skill that can be learned like reading, writing or driving a car. This is a fact! Some people just stumble on to these skills very naturally and at an early age. Others, well it takes a little more work. Some of you will have the drive and vision to become - who knows - maybe the next Picasso. Others of you will just be tickled to be able to draw a realistic picture of your pets, or even realistic caricatures. However far you want to take it, that's up to you! But you can learn to draw if you want to. I'm hardly the discoverer of that fact, but at this site you can find out how. Never let Yourself be intimidated again by Someone Who says: You can learn to draw and I'm going to show you it's possible. And if I can't convince you, I'll be able to show you or bring you to those people who are the true giants in the field (Like Dr. Betty Edwards, author of the million plus seller "Drawing on the Right side of the Brain"). What else You'll find here... You'll find access to a growing list/network of teachers and instructors trained in "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" (DRSB) techniques - conceived, cultivated and perfected by Dr. Betty Edwards. If you're an instructor, DRSB or not, and you're interested in being listed here for people to contact, (so you can announce your program or classes, - or if you're interested in DRSB instructor training - please see the instructors page). You'll find lots of free information here, and you'll find things you can purchase for a fee - and anything you purchase comes with my Iron-clad guarantee: it's got to perform or I'll return every dime back to you... In the Bookstore you'll find books, tapes, videos...that can add depth and richness to your drawing experience, you can build your own at-home reference and resource center...(courtesy of Amazon .com) And I want you to have Fun! That's why I'm practically giving away thousands of dollars worth of caricatures: to entice you, to hold up a model for you to shoot for, or shoot away from :-), to help you learn, to get a chuckle out of. (As you get more and more into drawing you'll see your own personal style and tastes emerge.) Levels of Support. And I don't just want to throw up a site that's passive. I'm genuinely interested in your success as an artist. Even if you "know in your heart" you can draw, some people find it hard to get going, to actually get drawing. So we'll be researching ways to get you motivated to finish your lessons - because sometimes getting started is the hardest part. We'll be featuring your art work - once a month we'll be putting up a members artwork, so when you sign up you and the entire world can see your talent and progress. Getting you involved, I think is one of the best ways to getting you motivated. So all along here, we're going to be looking into ways to get you - and keep you - drawing. From timing clocks, caricatures, to an on-line art supply store (all on the drawing board), to growing local and national resources, I want to make this your one stop "Learn to Draw Caricatures" center. So please feel at home! We're new on the net, so we'll be going through lots of growth. Come back soon or sign up for the free e-magazine (on the HomePage), and we'll let you know once or twice a month when we add new articles, interviews, or when something of interest rolls around the corner. Sincerely, Jeff Kasbohm PS. Don't forget to check out my "Outrageous Offer". PSS - If you have the desire to draw and you got one good eye, and something to hold onto a pencil with, You can learn to draw!
