Homework for Lesson 7

In this exercise I've linked a group of small, interesting forms for you to draw. The idea here is to concentrate on shapes - not just lines. Like in the rest of the negative space exercises, you want to feel that subtle shift, the subtle "aha", (small "a"), of your brain recognizing pictures and shapes as "stand alone" objects. I've also loaded these upside down. For two reasons:

  • first, you'll be pulled into R-mode more readily since your thinking brain will have tougher time recognizing them, and,

  • secondly, the negative spaces will be easier to recognize as a separate objects.

Draw the black or blue or colored shapes only. Then, when you've finished, flip your drawing paper over and and see if you can recognize the picture.

Have fun!
